Welcome to Czechia: Webinar for U.S. students

On Thursday, August 6, The National Agency for International Education and Research (Study in Czechia) and U.S. Embassy in Prague organised an online Welcome to Czechia webinar for U.S. students in cooperation with the and Erasmus Student Network Czech Republic.

The webinar was designed for students from the United States who are preparing to study at Czech universities, as well as for those considering Czechia as their future study destination. The aim was to provide a practical introduction to studying and living in Czechia and to help students feel more prepared before their arrival.

During the session, participants received information about the first steps before and after arrival, residence-related matters, healthcare, accommodation, student life, useful contacts, and where to seek support if needed. The programme also included a short interactive Kahoot quiz and a student perspective section, giving participants a chance to hear from someone with first-hand experience of studying in Czechia.

A live Q&A session gave students the opportunity to ask questions directly to the organizers and speakers. After the webinar, participants received a follow-up email with the recording, presentation, useful links, additional resources, and evaluation form.

The webinar served as a pilot format for future online welcome activities aimed at supporting incoming international students before they arrive in Czechia.
