What made you decide to study in the Czech Republic?

After visiting The Czech Republic in 2014, i liked it so much and told myself ‘’ you could live here’’. Great culture, environment and budget friendly. My University especially offers an excellent option of programme selection for all levels of study.

Did your studies meet your expectations? How did you find the study programme, instructors, university facilities? Were there any differences from studying in your country?

Yes! I generally enjoy my lectures and how flexible they are. The Faculty of Economics specifically has vast options of courses you can attend or register for most of which I was limited to do during my Bachelor studies. The instructors are friendly and always trying to assist, I like how most people are inquisitive about where i come from and the differences in cultures. The University has excellent facilities, i like how the library in my faculty is set up. It does not feel like a trap to study! On and educational level, I experienced minor differences in educational system and it was easy to get integrated.

What was the biggest surprise with regard to studying or living in the Czech Republic?

On a good note, it was finally wonderful to get a platform to interact with lecturers on how ‘’we’’ students wanted our classes conducted, i felt how valued my opinion was. Back where I am from all school schedules are somewhat dictated to you and you’d have to adhere. For me living in CZ is exciting, more like love at first sight…. I had already chosen my location, enjoying it came naturally.

What was your most memorable experience or what did you enjoy most as a student in the Czech Republic?

I generally enjoy being in a different location every long weekend or holiday i get. It’s so easy to travel within and to the neighbouring countries. I love Czech cuisine and the cheap beer!!!!! But i mostly really like that i get to make lifetime friendships with people from different walks of life.

How do you think your time in the Czech Republic has helped your studies and/or your career?

I am positive i will leave TUL as a satisfied student and a better version of myself. My skills and abilities were tested and i am thankful for all the opportunities i am able to engage in in school , projects and my internship at the International office. In the first year of my studies, i feel more experienced with work and equipped than i have been since the completion of my Bachelors.

Do you have any advice for students thinking about studying in the Czech Republic?

You have to come and create your own great and fun experiences! If you are lucky, I might still be around and give you some great travel and cuisine pointers :)
