I wrote the book 'A Proper Woman', which deals with the position of women in my native Cambodia. The book is the best-selling title written by a woman in Cambodia. In my home country, I still feel the need to draw attention to persistent problems in society. Being a woman in Cambodia is just a profession, I try to show that women can fulfil their dreams. The book has had a huge impact, as it is the first on this subject. People tell me that I have accurately captured the feelings they have. I hope the publication will help to change the perception of women in Cambodia.
I arrived to the Czech Republic thanks to the program of organization Člověk v tísni. I spent three years at the University of Hradec Králové, this experience helped me to stand on my own. I loved the school, as well as the whole city and nature. Based on the knowledge gained from my studies at the Faculty of Informatics and Management, I managed to set up a travel agency which I am still managing.
