What made you decide to study in the Czech Republic?

I chose to study in the Czech Republic due to the quality and affordability of it's education programs. All my life I have wanted to study abroad for exposure and to get globally recognized education. Czech republic offers me exactly this (European highest standards of Education). Czech republic is also a very peaceful country which is an important consideration factor for any international student.

Did your studies meet your expectations? How did you find the study programme, instructors, university facilities? Were there any differences from studying in your country?

My studies in the Czech Republic I'd say have actually exceeded my expectations and the way of teaching is of course very different from the usual teaching in my country Kenya. There's more practical than theoretical teaching and the lectures are very engaging. This ensures more active than passive learning. From the experience in my university (Mendel), schools here have topnotch facilities which facilitate a comfortable and healthy learning of the students. This also impacts healthy student teacher relationships.

What was the biggest surprise with regard to studying or living in the Czech Republic?

That definitely has to be about the culture. Moreso the social culture of the Czechs. In Kenya, people are more friendly and you can speak to almost anyone on the go and they will happily and helpfully respond. In Czech Republic, the people are mostly reserved and are not very welcoming to random talks or engagements especially if you can't speak czech, that's some kind of a problem. I can also say that the living standards here were some kind of shock to me because it is absolutely and extremely affordable to live in the Czech Republic which is a good thing for any student. In Brno, where I study, I find it quite easy to survive as a student, much easier than I expected.

What was your most memorable experience or what did you enjoy most as a student in the Czech Republic?

As a student, I've had many good and memorable experiences but the best one of them all has to be the ability and the freedom to travel and see other European countries and cities. I love that there is no discrimination in Europe and that with a student Visa, I can travel around easily and at very affordable rates. It's a big world out there and I am happy I am able to experience it.

How do you think your time in the Czech Republic has helped your studies and/or your career?

My studies in the Czech Republic definitely places me in the global competitive market due to my new globally recognized skills and abilities. This is such an important milestone for any student/professional. To be able to work and practice your skills anywhere in the world

Do you have any advice for students thinking about studying in the Czech Republic?
