What made you decide to study in the Czech Republic?

One of my favourite lecturers is from Czech Republic, and I wanted to learn more from him physically.

Did your studies meet your expectations? How did you find the study programme, instructors, university facilities? Were there any differences from studying in your country?

My studies exceeded my expectations. At Brno University of Technology, I could access premium computing facilities and exclusive software for my research. The University has heavily invested in its students' wellbeing to ensure all round development. At my country, Kenya, such kind of resources and facilities are rare and expensive.

What was the biggest surprise with regard to studying or living in the Czech Republic?

Czech's climate was my biggest surprise. I didn't think that ice was that cold :). The short nights during summer were also phenomenal to me.

What was your most memorable experience or what did you enjoy most as a student in the Czech Republic?

My most memorable experience was trip to Znojmo, a major town in the South Moravian Region, organised by ESN. I learned a lot about Czechia culture and history. As a student, I enjoyed many discounts and deals using my ESN card.

How do you think your time in the Czech Republic has helped your studies and/or your career?

I have been able to focus on my studies away from work distractions, thereby finishing my course at record time. Also, I acquired invaluable research skills that will forever help me in my line of work.

Do you have any advice for students thinking about studying in the Czech Republic?

Learn some little Czech language because most people use it in shopping malls dormitories, restaurant and almost everywhere. I will help you get around better.
