What made you decide to study in the Czech Republic?

The primary reason was the cost. It’s relatively economical to study here than in the USA, which was one of my options.

Did your studies meet your expectations? How did you find the study programme, instructors, university facilities? Were there any differences from studying in your country?

I had no expectations to begin with but I must admit that the study program I chose for my bachelors degree was an interesting and informative one aside being more engaging. The instructors are mainly approachable and generally good-natured; and that is the best part.

What was the biggest surprise with regard to studying or living in the Czech Republic?

None at all.

What was your most memorable experience or what did you enjoy most as a student in the Czech Republic?

My most memorable experience as a student in the Czech Republic has been my multiple attempt at learning the Czech language. Each of the two times I enrolled in a Czech language course, I’ve had random people offer help with my tutoring and practice. People here are generally excited when a foreigner tries to learn the language. In fact, I’m told it’s easier to learn Czech if you’re a student.... although I must add that I’ve not been really successful with the language. :D

How do you think your time in the Czech Republic has helped your studies and/or your career?

Exposure to a foreign country is certainly an advantage in any career path these days. My approach towards studies has changed significantly upon my arrival here. I am now able to combine studies with fun. This was not the case for me until I arrived here.

Do you have any advice for students thinking about studying in the Czech Republic?

Yes, don’t think twice about it. Come study in the Czech Republic and you’ll love it.
