As I wrap up the winter semester and dive into final exams and thesis work, I’m also reflecting on how this academic year has gone so far. 2025 is officially here - the year of my graduation - and I couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead.
This semester has truly flown by, but it wasn’t without its challenges. I started with an overly ambitious course load, quickly realizing I had bitten off more than I could chew. Thankfully, my university is very understanding. I dropped a couple of courses and even decided to audit one. Auditing means I can attend lectures without the pressure of exams or assignments, and I chose an incredible class on the basics of neuroscience. It’s been fascinating and a great learning way without adding to my workload.
Another highlight has been working on the practical part of my thesis. I’ve been conducting interviews, which have been both insightful and rewarding. Seeing how my research is taking shape is fantastic, and I’m genuinely excited about where this project is heading.
Outside of academics, I’ve made time to explore. I’ve taken some short trips around Czechia and discovered new corners of Prague. I also visited family back home, which was heartwarming and refreshing. At the same time, I’ve been lucky to have fun with the amazing friends I’ve made here and to meet even more incredible people along the way. These connections have truly made my experience unforgettable.
As the semester ends, I hope for a smooth and productive summer semester. I know there’s still a lot to do - state exams, finishing my thesis, and preparing for graduation - but I’m ready to take it all on.
