The bachelor's degree programme in Accounting and Business Finance prepares you for successful careers as managers in financial and managerial accounting and corporate finance at the middle management level, both in the business and non-profit sectors. Students will gain knowledge and skills in preparing financial statements and evaluating the financial position and performance of a business based on those statements. They can compile and use accounting information for financial management and financial analysis. Graduates find employment in accounting and financial management in a variety of management positions in businesses of all sizes, sectors and industries, as well as at various levels of state and local government.
After graduation, you will be able to: - analyse and prepare financial statements, related reports and annexes, and use them to assess company performance or support financial management and financial analysis; - prepare advanced financial analysis, calculate risk indicators, apply them in practice, make recommendations for financial distress management and assess differences in statements prepared under different accounting regulations; - keep accounting records for all basic types of organisations and control revenue and expenditure budgets; - choose costing options for different decision-making tasks and design a management accounting information system; - design long-term and short-term financial plans and assess links and impacts of changes in accounting and financial management on corporate reporting and financing; - use IT innovatively and find, present, justify and defend a solution to an accounting and financial management problem in Czech and English professional discussion.
