Doctoral study field of International political relations offers extended knowledge in the field of international relations. Study is conceived as multidisciplinary, is based on knowledge of world economy, international law and other important aspects of international reality – security, ecology, culture. Fundamental stress is put on the study of theory and topical issues of international relations, interdisciplinary analyses of global processes. Applicants for this field of study may be graduates from universities with both economic and social science orientation, if they meet the requirements of entrance procedure (required knowledge is at the level of the main specialisation at VŠE „International Politics and Diplomacy“).

After completing the study programme, you will be able to: - understand and apply key concepts and categories of the discipline at an advance level. Integrate theoretical knowledge and apply it to practical problems in international relations; - critically analyse knowledge of world affairs from international political and economic perspectives and conduct a synthesis of that knowledge. Compare, evaluate and defend different interpretations of international political and economic phenomena in academic debates in advanced-level professional debates; - identify research gaps and formulating research questions, including designing and implementing innovative research designs incorporating qualitative and quantitative methods and using relevant scholarly research software; - implement a comprehensive research methodology - gathering, analysing, evaluating and critically interpreting data and sources on international political and economic processes; - develop and implement publication strategies consistent with research objectives and effectively publish results in high-quality journals, monographs or proceedings.
