The aim of the programme is to prepare qualified educational professionals in the field of social pedagogy for the areas of education and social services. During their studies, students acquire theoretical knowledge in pedagogy, psychology, sociology and other related fields. The courses in the study programme are interdisciplinary in nature and are structured to cover the key issues currently faced by social pedagogy. Emphasis is also placed on the acquisition of skills, which are developed by students in seminars and practical classes. Students will be able to verify and further develop the knowledge and skills they have acquired during practical training in schools and social organisations. Students are encouraged to independently design projects focused on monitoring and addressing problems in society.

Graduates find employment in schools and educational institutions, working as educators, teaching assistants and leisure-time educators. In the field of education, graduates may also find employment in non-governmental organisations, such as centres for leisure-time activities, and in education departments of municipal and regional authorities. In the social sphere, typical employers include facilities for children and young people, halfway houses, shelters, retirement homes, counselling centres, non-profit organisations focused on the resocialisation of individuals, social affairs departments of municipal and regional authorities, and the field of social and legal protection of children.
