The Bachelor's professional study programme Sustainability Management at the Faculty of Science of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice offers comprehensive interdisciplinary education combining environmental, social and economic sciences. The programme is delivered with the involvement of six faculties of the University of South Bohemia, giving students access to expertise from a wide range of fields. Students explore key contemporary challenges – climate change, depletion of natural resources and social inequalities – and develop practical, innovative solutions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Teaching is closely connected to real-world practice through collaboration with companies, organisations and public administration bodies on actual projects. Core study areas include environmental sciences, social aspects of sustainability (ethics, corporate responsibility), economic skills (ESG reporting, strategic planning), modern technologies, and practical competences such as project management, critical thinking and team leadership. Students may choose specialisations in areas such as circular bioeconomy, applied environmental chemistry or data science.

A graduate of the Sustainability Management programme possesses interdisciplinary knowledge spanning environmental, social and economic sciences and is equipped to address complex sustainability challenges in practice. They are proficient in data analysis, environmental assessment and strategy development, and are capable of effectively communicating and presenting findings in both professional and public settings. Graduates find employment in the private sector, public administration and international organisations in roles such as: Sustainability Manager in national or multinational companies, non-profit organisations or the public sector, ESG Reporting Specialist (analysis of environmental, social and governance data), Environmental Impact Analyst and developer of mitigation strategies, Sustainability Strategy Consultant, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager, Public Administration Officer (environmental departments, regulatory bodies, legislative work), Education and Policy Specialist at regional, national or international level.
