The aim of the doctoral study programme in Agricultural Chemistry and Biotechnology is to provide comprehensive education focused primarily on the areas of agricultural chemistry, agricultural biotechnology and molecular biology, and the quality of agricultural products. Emphasis is placed on the further development of critical thinking, the ability to independently and comprehensively analyse professional information, to design and carry out experimental and theoretical work, and to appropriately evaluate and publish the obtained results. Significant attention is also paid to mastering a wide range of modern instrumental and laboratory techniques used in the analysis of agricultural products, as well as to acquiring advanced skills in molecular biology and biotechnology methods. The programme aims to equip graduates with practical skills in agricultural and food chemistry, quality assessment of agricultural products, molecular biology, and biotechnology, enabling them to achieve full professional competence and successful application in practice and in their field of study.

Submit the electronic “Application for Study at a Higher Education Institution” on the FZT USB website. Attach your CV and Master’s degree diploma, either as an officially certified PDF from authorised conversion – CZECH POINT or in paper form by post to the FZT USB Student Affairs Office. If you cannot submit the diploma with the application, provide it by enrolment day. International applicants submit proof of English or Czech at minimum B2 through a recognised certificate and send the FZT USB International Relations Office a copy of a nostrified document confirming a state final examination equivalent to a Master’s degree in Czechia. FZT USB may require further originals or certified documents. You demonstrate prerequisites in an oral interview; internationals may use MS Teams.

Graduates of the doctoral study programme in Agricultural Chemistry and Biotechnology possess advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in agricultural chemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, and the quality assessment of agricultural products. They are capable of critically and comprehensively analysing scientific information, designing and conducting experimental and theoretical work, and professionally evaluating and publishing research results. They are proficient in modern instrumental and laboratory techniques and able to use them effectively in the analysis of agricultural products and in research activities. Graduates have strong practical skills in molecular biology and biotechnology and are able to apply them in both basic and applied research. They are well prepared for independent scientific work and find employment in laboratories, research institutions, food and biotechnology companies, as well as in public administration, where they are qualified to hold leading expert and research positions.
