This study programme aims at educating experts in humanities who will possess in-depth knowledge of various areas. The study programme consists of courses focused on philosophy, history of philosophy, epistemology, logic and ethics. Moreover, students become familiar with cultural history, including religion, art and the history of science and technology. You master foreign languages and develop their communication skills. In addition, students of this programme have the possibility to select non-mandatory subjects which enable them to put their skills and knowledge into practice.

You learn how to analyse and interpret written and spoken texts related to the humanities. They will be able to evaluate the scientific and linguistic culture of these texts. You learn how to search for important information concerning the researched issue, study domestic and foreign scientific literature, interpret it and successfully use it to deal with a selected topic in the field of philosophy, history, religion, aesthetics, or art history. Students develop their communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team. After graduation, you can find employment in many spheres. They can work in public administration, library science, cultural or charitable organizations, or business and services. They have the possibility of continuing their studies in follow-up Master’s degree programmes, including the Theory and Philosophy of Communication and European Cultural Studies, at the University of West Bohemia, or other Czech or foreign universities.
