Applications are submitted online through the VSB–TUO Electronic Application System. Applicants select their study programme and a preliminary dissertation topic, complete the required information, and upload all mandatory documents. After submitting the application and fulfilling the formal requirements, they are included in the admission procedure.

Graduates are highly qualified researchers capable of conducting independent scientific research in the fields of nanomaterials, nanostructures, and nanosystems. They possess advanced interdisciplinary knowledge of physics, chemistry, materials engineering, and computational modelling, enabling them to design, synthesise, characterise, and simulate advanced materials for applications in electronics, energy technologies, medicine, and other high-tech sectors. Through international supervision, long-term research placements abroad, and active participation in international research projects, graduates gain extensive experience in global scientific collaboration. They are prepared to lead research activities, publish high-impact scientific results, and contribute to the development of innovative technologies in academia, research institutions, and industry worldwide.
