This doctoral study programme is focused on independent scientific research in applied zoology. You develop advanced knowledge of animal biology, ecology, population dynamics and interactions between animals and their environments. Emphasis is placed on field and experimental research, data analysis and application of zoological knowledge in conservation biology, wildlife management and sustainable use of animal populations.
As a graduate, you are prepared for research careers at universities and research institutions, or as experts in nature conservation, wildlife management and biodiversity protection. You may work in public administration, conservation organisations or environmental research centres.
At Mendel University in Brno (MENDELU), you study at one of the oldest universities focused on natural sciences, agriculture, forestry, economics and modern technologies. Study programmes connect theory with practical experience and address current topics such as climate change, sustainable resource management, food production, management and regional development.
