The doctoral programme focuses on research in the field of biological chemistry, with an emphasis on chemical processes in living systems and their applications. You develop in-depth knowledge of the structure and function of biomolecules, enzymatic processes, and analytical methods used in biological and chemical analysis. Emphasis is placed on experimental work, data interpretation, and the involvement of doctoral students in interdisciplinary research.

As a graduate, you can find employment as researchers at scientific institutions, universities, biochemistry and biotechnology companies, or analytical and diagnostic laboratories. You are prepared to independently tackle research projects in the field of biological chemistry and related disciplines.
Doctoral studies are generally provided without tuition fees and are associated with doctoral stipends. Full‑time Ph.D. students receive a doctoral study income, the minimum level of which is set by legal regulations and currently amounts to approximately CZK 25,000 per month; in practice, it may be higher depending on involvement in research projects, publication activity, and other academic duties.
