The master's degree programme in International Politics and Diplomacy is to train specialists for the field of international and external economic relations, equipped with advanced theoretical knowledge of economics as well as knowledge of international relations, international law and strategic decision-making skills in international practice within the foreign service, economic and public diplomacy and development cooperation. The core values of the programme are comprehensive knowledge, interconnectedness of theory and practice, emphasis on the ethical and environmental dimensions of strategic decision-making and respect for the multicultural realities of the international environment.
After completing the programme, you will: - gain interdisciplinary knowledge of economics, international economics, international politics, international law and their links at theoretical and applied levels; - understand globalisation and its economic, political and geopolitical implications from global, state and regional perspectives, including Europe; - know foreign policy analysis, foreign policy approaches of states, and the role of major powers, the European Union and other actors; - deepen knowledge of development, human rights, European integration, economic, cultural and public diplomacy; - use experience from specialisation and internships in diplomatic practice, economic diplomacy, international negotiations, international economic, diplomatic and consular law; - analyse international relations globally and regionally using economic and political categories, mechanisms and data; - compare states’ foreign policy concepts with Czech foreign policy; - conduct bilateral and multilateral negotiations and apply diplomatic protocol and intercultural communication; - prepare projects and evaluate primary and secondary research using quantitative and qualitative methods.
