Technical University of Liberec - Fakulta strojní
The Plastics and Composites Technology study programmeme is intended for those who want to be at the forefront of industrial innovation and become part of a rapidly developing sector. The programme offers knowledge and practical skills in the field of plastics, composite materials, and their processing, which are applied across a wide range of industrial sectors. The programme responds to current trends and the requirements of industrial practice, where plastics and composites are increasingly used due to their low weight, strength, and ability to meet environmental standards. During your studies, you work with modern materials, including biopolymers and advanced composites. They acquire knowledge of processing technologies, the design of parts, tools, machines, and other production equipment. Graduates are equipped with skills in calculations, modelling, and simulations of material properties and processing processes, as well as in technical measurement, experimental methods, production management, metrology, logistics, and industrial management.
Apply online via the study agenda information system of the Technical University of Liberec (IS/STAG TUL). The online application form is available here: https://stag.tul.cz/portal/studium/uchazec/informace.html?pc_lang=cs
Graduates acquire comprehensive and mutually interconnected knowledge and skills, possessing theoretical and practical knowledge at a high professional level in the fields of technologies, processes and materials, design and calculations, technological development and management, including computer modelling and simulations, technical measurement and experimental methods. Through these, they expand the boundaries of current knowledge and are able to communicate this knowledge mainly to industrial practice, but also to the general public. The nature of the study programmeme leads to the preparation and education of graduates who have deep theoretical knowledge and skills and are able to solve problems encountered in industrial practice. Graduates are engineers whose education prepares them for promising and exceptional employment in manufacturing and on the labour market, not only in technical positions, but also in leadership and management roles in the processing industry. Last but not least, the study programmeme also prepares graduates for follow-up doctoral studies. The graduate profile of the study programmeme is specified by the following output knowledge and skills: Graduates have knowledge of technologies and processes; technological development; the design of parts, tools, machines, and mechanisms; materials, polymers, and composites; machines, robots, and production technology; calculations, modelling, and process simulations; technical measurement and experimental methods; production management, metrology, logistics, and industrial management. Graduates have the skills to design and manage methods and procedures for production, assembly, and surface treatment; design parts and moulds; apply simulations and calculations in the pre-production stage; design machines, machinery, and fixtures; ensure technological preparation of production; design the arrangement of machines, material flow, and workplace continuity; verify new procedures and production designs; determine methods of quality control and management, as well as technical testing; carry out technical supervision at workplaces; monitor compliance with technological procedures; apply tools from the field of business management; use managerial decision-making methods to find optimal solutions to problems; and evaluate, improve, and design processes in industrial sectors.
