The College of Physical Education and Sport PALESTRA
In the professionally oriented three-year Bachelor's degree programme Nutrition Counseling and Sports Diagnostics at VŠTVS PALESTRA (newly accredited since 2025), you prepare to analyse relationships between nutrition, physical activity and health within primary prevention. You learn to evaluate dietary habits, musculoskeletal status and overall physical condition, and to design individual lifestyle modifications. The programme emphasises modern diagnostic methods, body morphology, somatometry and selecting sports specialisations based on physical predispositions. The curriculum uses the ECTS credit system and combines compulsory, compulsory elective and elective courses with an emphasis on personal development. A key component is 480 hours of professional practice at partner organisations in sports, education, healthcare and wellness, such as CASRI or Beachklub Ládví. Offered in both full-time and combined forms, the programme ends with a state final examination and the defence of a bachelor's thesis after you earn at least 180 credits.
For the 2026/2027 academic year, register fully online. Submit the E-Application on the website, pay the application fee and upload the required documents: high school graduation certificate (maturita), medical confirmation and clean criminal record declaration. Use the official forms on the school's website. The admission process for this programme has no entrance exams. The programme is taught only in Czech. Foreign applicants are invited to an interview to verify their Czech language proficiency and ability to study in Czech.
As a graduate of the Nutrition Counseling and Sports Diagnostics programme, you gain advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills for creating educational, sports and nutritional programmes tailored to diverse client groups. You can promote a positive approach to health, motivate clients to care for physical and mental fitness, and design optimal nutritional, hydration and exercise regimes within primary and secondary prevention. As a specialist in healthy lifestyles and musculoskeletal diagnostics, you can assess physical and motor predispositions, analyse sports performance and adjust training plans accordingly. Career paths span the state, public and private sectors, including nutrition counselling for athletes and the general population of all age groups, training, instruction and advising in schools, companies, fitness and wellness centres, sports clubs, hotels, and regeneration or reconditioning facilities.
The tuition fee for one academic year can be divided into two installments, as specified in the study agreement.
PALESTRA offers bachelor's and master's programmes focused on sport, wellness, physiotherapy and an active lifestyle. The school connects teaching with practice, develops scientific activities and cooperates with domestic and international institutions.
