The Tool Design study programme offers interdisciplinary study at the interface of polymeric materials and technologies and engineering disciplines related to the design of polymer-based polymer and composite products and the construction of tools for their production. The interdisciplinary nature of the study educates the graduate able to solve problems related to the processing of polymers and metals with the design and manufacture of tools using production equipment, including robots and manipulators. The interdisciplinary nature of the study is already reflected in the study of the theoretical basis in mathematics and physics, knowledge of macromolecular chemistry and rheology is required as well, to the extent necessary to master the professional disciplines related to polymer processing. The significant emphasis is placed on the use of computer technology, especially for CAD, CAM and FEM applications.

Study

Graduates of the study programme of Tool Design will be experts capable of independent design activities in the field of design of polymer parts and especially tools designed for their production. They will be able to apply the knowledge gained during the study in solving tasks related to production processes in the plastics and engineering industries. Given the complexity of the most modern technologies used in technical practice, which is the focus of the study programme of Tool Design, the emphasis is placed on strengthening interdisciplinary links at the level of engineering, materials and technology, or technical chemistry.
