Study

The aim of the study programme is to educate students in the field of transport, primarily transport infrastructure engineering, and to prepare them for professions related to the design, construction, diagnostics and maintenance of transport structures and constructions. This mainly concerns the areas of roads, railway structures and bridge structures. Geotechnics and foundation engineering, as well as structural mechanics, also form an important part of the study programme. From these five areas forming the profiling foundation of the programme, the student also chooses the topic of their Bachelor’s thesis. In addition to acquiring a general overview and theoretical knowledge in the field of transport, the study programme places emphasis on the development of practical skills. Within the profiling specialized courses, students learn to work with specialized software, laboratory equipment and measuring technology used in situ. Contact with professional practice is ensured, among other things, through participation in excursions and invited lectures by experts from practice. The professional orientation of the programme is also emphasized by a 12-week practical training placement with contractual partners engaged in the above-mentioned areas, with the aim of facilitating the graduate’s transition into the chosen profession after completing their studies. The programme develops practical and professional competences, including communication skills and teamwork.
