Study

A graduate of the academically oriented Master’s degree programme “Transport Technology” has broad and in-depth knowledge of theories, concepts and methods in the field of rail or road transport vehicles and the safeguarding of their operation, including links to the legislation relevant to the given specialization. The common theoretical foundation of the study programme is based on subjects such as mathematics, automatic control and vehicle theory. These subjects are followed by specialized professional courses focusing on the design and testing of rail or road vehicles, or on propulsion and power supply systems for electromobility. In addition to in-depth knowledge in the above-mentioned areas, the graduate also acquires the knowledge necessary for successful work in technical practice, particularly in the use of appropriate information technologies and design systems. A more specific profiling of the graduate in the field of rail or road vehicles is ensured within the given specialization through the choice of a compulsory-elective block of courses. Thanks to this, the graduate is also familiar with issues related to the power supply of electric railways and braking systems of rail vehicles, or with traffic accident analysis, automotive electronics and diagnostics. Students’ knowledge and skills are then systematically developed with regard to the chosen specialization of the study programme. The graduate thus becomes a specialist in the operation and maintenance of land transport vehicles, in their construction, or in the field of electric traction, electromobility and signalling technology, while also being capable of professional communication in a foreign language.
