This programme focuses on gaining current knowledge of biology and ecology of insects comparable to analogous study programmes in the Czechia and abroad. Graduates master general modern methodologies of field and laboratory research of animal ecology and evolutionary biology and know in detail the methods of a specific field related to the focus of their dissertation (e.g. community ecology, taxonomy, evolutionary biology,animal physiology, environmental protection).The programme is accredited jointly with the Biology Centre of AS CR in České Budějovice

You will learn to use advanced knowledge of insect biology and ecology, master general modern methodologies of field and laboratory research of animal ecology and evolutionary biology, professional oral and written speech with a focus on writing professional publications and grant applications, write and present scientific publications and project outputs. Graduate careers: Graduate destinations include Researcher in insect biology research, Manager or lead resercher in environmental protection (eg. in the management of national parks and protected landscape areas), Researcher in plant protection in agriculture and forestry, Employee in education, Curator of museum collections.
