The three-year bachelor’s degree programme in Agriculture provides students with comprehensive education and practical knowledge related to primary agricultural production, particularly in the areas of crop production, crop protection, and livestock breeding. Theoretical foundations in natural and agricultural sciences are followed by specialised disciplines delivered through compulsory, compulsory elective, and elective courses. The concept of the bachelor’s programme is based on the requirements of agricultural and food-processing practice. An important factor in designing the programme structure has been the agricultural and food-oriented focus of the South Bohemian Region, where graduates, with their knowledge and skills, form a link between the production of agricultural raw materials (crop cultivation and livestock breeding), the purchase of agricultural products, and basic processing operations.

Study

Graduates of the bachelor’s degree programme in Agriculture acquire comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge in primary agricultural production, particularly in crop cultivation, plant protection, and livestock breeding. They are familiar with the fundamental principles of natural and agricultural sciences and are able to apply this knowledge in professional practice. They can analyse production processes, propose appropriate solutions, and effectively use modern methods in both plant and animal production. With their knowledge and skills, graduates connect the production of agricultural raw materials with their subsequent processing and marketing. They are capable of working independently as well as in teams and are well prepared for employment in agricultural enterprises, processing companies, or related sectors of the agri-food industry, or they may continue their studies in a follow-up master’s degree programme.
