The aim of the study programme is to prepare highly qualified specialists for research, development, and innovation activities in the field of civil engineering. Based on the chosen dissertation topic, the student focuses on a specific area in which they conduct independent scientific and research work. The doctoral study may address, for example, issues of structural statics and dynamics, the development of numerical methods for modelling load-bearing and non-load-bearing structural systems, research on structures made of steel, concrete, timber, and composite materials, research and development of building materials and components, the development of computational models of materials, the study of indoor and outdoor environments of buildings and their impact on structures, as well as the integration of buildings into broader functional systems, particularly within the urban environment and territorial infrastructure.

Graduates will be qualified to work as research and development specialists in the field of civil engineering, particularly in higher education institutions, in research and development departments of construction companies, and in enterprises focused on the production of building materials and construction products. They may also find employment as professional staff in structural engineering and design offices, as well as in managerial and expert positions within public administration and local government, especially in areas related to civil engineering and technical infrastructure.
