What made you decide to study in Czechia?
In any student's life, embarking on the path to higher education is an exciting and vital period. A variety of circumstances influenced my decision to complete my bachelor's degree in the enchanted kingdom of Czechia. Choosing the correct academic destination is a critical decision in any student's life. As an aspiring student representative of the Czech Republic, my decision to study in Czechia has been a life-changing experience. The heart of Europe: The geographical location of the Czech Republic being situated in the centre of the European continent gave me an immense advantage to access and travel in all directions of Europe. From spending my night in Berlin to having my Fika in Stockholm, living in the Czech Republic has provided me with a great set of opportunities to travel across different countries around Europe and great some unforgettable memories. Academic Excellence: The recognized academic excellence of Czechia was a major reason for my decision to study there. Charles University, located in the centre of Prague, has a long history of delivering high-quality education and encouraging intellectual development. The university’s rich history, along with its modern facilities and creative programs, offers an environment that creates academic study and personal development. The opportunity to learn and participate drew me to Charles University.
Did your studies meet your expectations? How did you find the study programme, instructors, university facilities? Were there any differences from studying in your country?
Without a doubt, yes! As a student with a diverse set of academic interests, Charles University's Oxford-style PPE program presented me with an intellectually stimulating environment in which to explore into a variety of areas. The curriculum covers philosophical ideas, political ideologies, and economic systems in depth. The ability to connect with well-known scholars and experts in their fields who are enthusiastic about teaching and research promised a lively and thought-provoking academic experience, which influenced my decision to study here.
What was the biggest surprise with regard to studying or living in Czechia?
Students studying in Prague, in particular, are exposed to a varied and cosmopolitan atmosphere. You could have been astonished by the diversity of foreign students and the ability to engage with individuals from all over the world, which was more than you expected while packed your luggage for your trip to the Czech Republic. The thick and extensive public transportation system in the Czech Republic is one of the nicest and largest surprises I've encountered. Its effectiveness and price made it quite convenient and simple for me to commute to various regions of Prague in a short period of time!
What was your most memorable experience or what did you enjoy most as a student in Czechia?
Strolling over the antique old cobblestone bridge, surrounded by sculptures and stunning architecture, late evening walk on the Charles bridge, with the illuminated spires of Prague Castle. Random interactions with tourists and visitors from all over the world, as well as sharing diverse experiences, cuisines, music, language, and backgrounds with a group of international friends and classmates, have made my education in the Czech Republic a unique and unforgettable event!!
How do you think your time in Czechia has helped your studies and/or your career?
Despite the fact that I was learning in English, I had the opportunity to acquire some Czech. Language fluency in many dialects has piqued my interest in pursuing a career in international relations and diplomacy. Studying abroad also allowed me to expand my worldwide network of friends, students, instructors, and professionals. These contacts have been useful in my current and future work endeavors, providing doors to foreign prospects. My PPE degree and studies at Charles University have also provided me many professional choices. My foreign education and experiences qualify me for a variety of positions in government, policy analysis, consulting, academia, and other fields.
Do you have any advice for students thinking about studying in Czechia?
considering the czech republic can be a life changing option for many students who want to pursue their education in the heart of europe. In order to make the experience as smooth as possible, students can preapre on the similar lines: 1) Take the time to extensively explore the program at Universities , that interests you. Check whether the course structure and demand is compatible with your academic and professional objectives. 2) Research your housing choices. On-campus housing is certainly the biggest and easiest available option for students at universities, but you may also look into private rentals. Amid the increasing number of students coming to the czech republic, remember to look for housing as soon as possible, especially if you want to live off-campus. 3) Keep up to current on local news and events, particularly any changes in visa requirements or institution policy. 4) Participate in international and local student groups. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, participate in extracurricular activities, and develop a feeling of community. 5) additionally, Be culturally aware and open-minded. Czech culture may be unfamiliar to you, so approach it with interest and respect.
