What to study

Several options exist for your way of studying in Czechia. For example, you can come for a summer school programme, a one to two-semester exchange programme or you can pursue a full degree programme. Have a look at the options below and then search for your desired type of education.

1) Degree programmes

Would you like to pursue a university degree in Czechia? Higher education institutions offer accredited degree programmes at three levels: Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral, as well as lifelong learning courses.

Higher education institutions in Czechia can be either public, private or state. Traditional public or state (university-type) institutions may offer all types of degree programmes while private (non-university-type) institutions are characterised by providing mainly Bachelor's degree programmes.

2) short-term study programmes

Would you like to come to Czechia for a shorter (non-degree) study stay? You can come for a study abroad with the Erasmus+ programme.

There are also other available exchange study programmes in Czechia, such as Central European Exchange Programme CEEPUS, AKTION programme, grant programmes under The International Visegrad Fund, Master or Doctoral studies at universities in Brno supported by The South Moravian Center For International Mobility or Fulbright Programme. Search the different types of exchange programmes and associated scholarships in our Scholarships offer. 

Czech universities are also involved in several Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees (EMJMD). These are distinguished by their academic excellence and run by international consortia of higher education institutions. With EMJMD you can receive a full degree scholarship for such a Master-level international study programme. This action is supported by the EU within the Erasmus+ programme.


3) MBA / LL.M. programmes

Several public and private universities offer Master of Business Administration (MBA) programmes. The list of MBA programmes at Czech universites taught in English is available in the attached table.

Besides universities, you can study MBA programmes at other educational institutions too. Useful websites where to look for further MBA courses in Czechia are MBAStudies.com or FindMBA. In case of questions you can turn to the Czech Association of MBA Schools (CAMBAS), which is the institution aiming at controlling and improving the MBA post-gradual educational system in Czechia.

4) Language / preparatory courses

You can learn the Czech language at the Summer School of Slavonic Studies or at language courses offered by other institutions. For some tips have a look at the page dedicated to the language preparation.

5) Summer / winter schools

For certain summer schools you can apply for a scholarship as well. This regards the Summer Schools of Slavonic Studies or the Journey: Journalism Bootcamp supported by the Bakala Foundation.
