What made you decide to study in Czechia?

I was looking at various universities for doing a master's and Charles University and the program it offered struck me! After a year now, I know, I was not wrong to choose Czechia and Charles.

Did your studies meet your expectations? How did you find the study programme, instructors, university facilities? Were there any differences from studying in your country?

I had a lot of minor culture shocks coming to Czechia; the education system, mode and way of teaching, the communication with instructors, and even the administration office were all very smooth and easy. Every step was easy, and there were people always there to help. So, for sure, there was confusion, but I never felt lost.

What was the biggest surprise with regard to studying or living in Czechia?

The biggest surprise for me was how responsive the entire system was. All of the doubts were answered; a simple email could fix many things, and I don't have to spend an entire day on it. All the teachers and administrative staff welcomed me and made me and other International students feel at home.

What was your most memorable experience or what did you enjoy most as a student in Czechia?

I lived my entire life in a tropical state! I have never experienced four seasons in a year. So, as a person who thoroughly enjoys nature, the seasonal changes and how they make nature change amazed me. Also, I will never forget my first snowfall. It felt magical.

How do you think your time in Czechia has helped your studies and/or your career?

I love the person I am becoming after a year of studying in Czechia. It was not easy, but I am more confident. I love the progress I am making. I am proud of the opportunities I have received within a year of coming here. I am sure more wonderful days are ahead, and it is a sea of possibilities. So, polishing our skills, being more confident, and learning each day, I foresee a bright future. Not only that, but I am pleased with how my experiences changed me positively.

Do you have any advice for students thinking about studying in Czechia?

Put some effort into learning the Czech language. It is not at all easy to start from scratch, but it will be worth it. Make sure you do all the background research before committing, be sure about the course, and communicate with the program coordinator beforehand.
