What made you decide to study in Czechia?

I made this decision the moment I stepped in this country for the first time. Every corner has a story to tell, it is mesmerising. When I discovered the educational opportunities and its perfect location in the heart of Europe, it was an immediate yes.

Did your studies meet your expectations? How did you find the study programme, instructors, university facilities? Were there any differences from studying in your country?

I study at Charles University. It was a simple and effective process to obtain all information to decide over a program and to make an application. The university was very helpful throughout. In comparison with previous experiences, the educational system is quite different. My classes are very international, and that not only enriches the experience and broadens our perspectives, but also, it makes it easier to connect with the other students and get involved in the faculty life.

What was the biggest surprise with regard to studying or living in Czechia?

I was surprised by how well connected Prague is. Public transportation is efficient so nothing feels really far away. Also, the city is so beautiful, it is like living in a fairy tale. It feels so peaceful for a capital, full of parks, and full of things to do, you never get bored.

What was your most memorable experience or what did you enjoy most as a student in Czechia?

Recently, I’ve had classes with an inspiring professor who made me love my field, the city and the university even more. I mention this because I never had an experience like this in my life. Some of the professors I have found here are very passionate and committed, which makes classes genuinely enjoyable and interesting, nobody wants to miss any lecture!

How do you think your time in Czechia has helped your studies and/or your career?

Czechia opened my eyes in a very positive way. I’ve found many opportunities that made me feel more inspired and confident about my future, and I’ve been feeling a strong support in this place to build a path towards my dream career.

Do you have any advice for students thinking about studying in Czechia?

Take the risk and come. You won’t regret it. Studying abroad depends on your mindset, it can be the best experience of your life. I’ve lived in different European countries, but there’s something about Czechia that makes you want to stay. Choose the city, university and field that suits you and what you need. Czechia offers many opportunities, but feeling comfortable is key. And the best practical advice I can give is: live in the dorms, at least at the beginning, it is the easiest way to meet people and not feel alone. Fun and friendships are almost always included in the package.
